Haven Mcinerney (Wheat Ridge, CO)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"Production music is an absolutely perfect fit for me. The world of production music libraries is brand new to me and I am so thankful for Richard's comprehensive book. After purchasing and reading the book a couple of times, I have done quite a bit of online research and must say that Richard's book is still my number one resource. His writing style is direct and to the point - an "easy read" while being extremely informative and inspiring. In addition to the book, I have had a couple of reviews of my music from Richard and I have found those to be in depth and again, direct and educational. I highly recommend both the book and the reviews if production music is something you are even considering.
Thank you so much, Richard!"

Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"I have been playing music a long time and have read a lot of books, from recording equipment to getting gigs and getting your songs out there. Production music is something that I thought about, but didn't think about again until I came across CareersInMusic. Richard has a very down to earth approachable demeanor that is very refreshing. Even after reading the book, I had a few questions, and he got back to me right away. The book itself unlike many of the books I have read. It gets right to the point and gives you common terms and definitions in the industry, as well as priceless information on what to do and things you never want to do so you can succeed in getting started. I am really excited to build my new career this year and I feel that based on the principles found in Richard's book, the only thing that can hold me back is me." :)

Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"WOW! This is such a great book, on so many levels!
It's refreshing how honest it is about what it know's and what is in flux
due to the business.
It would have been so easy for Richard to just blag or embellish about his
industry but in fact he just tell's it how it is.
This has to be the most helpful book I've ever read. It gives you an
amazing foundation on which to build. I really cant recommend this enough,
whether you want to go into this industry or are just curious, you should buy
it!
This really is a wonderful and irreplaceable resource, which is a joy to
read and easy to refer to.
I just loved it!"

Michelle Teo (Singapore)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"Normally, people might think twice of spending money to get the information that they know is needed to succeed because it is money out of their pockets.
Which in this case usually I would hesitate but I didn't.
I bought Write, Record & Sell Production Music immediately when I looked through the site without any hesitation.
The reason being, I found it very enlightening and found loads of information that I thought I knew from the years of experience as a club DJ/ performer/music producer.
As a female from Singapore, it is hard to compete with guys in this area when it comes to music production, especially when your not from the States or have the connections to do so.
What I love most about this book that is really easy to understand and the way it is written, Richard tells us in the most simplest of manner, what most books can't give you.
Plus with Richard's personal reviews that comes with it is an added bonus which lets you know where you stand in terms of your creation and makes you move forward from it.
Take it from a girl that has been competing with guys all my life, BUY THIS BOOK! it will give you the extra push you need to succeed. Because right now I have the upper hand! LOL.
Thanks Richard for the reviews and for making the book."
Sincerely,

David Henderson (Boulder, CO)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"Write, Record & Sell Production Music is the "go-to" resource for understanding the Production Music business. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to understand this market. It's well worth the price just for the included contact list alone. The best part is that Richard is a successful Production Music composer in his own right. Not only does the book define the nuts and bolts of the Production Music business, it also presents you with a "best practices" approach on how to execute based on Richard's actual experiences. He takes you through the business, revenue streams, standard contract terms, as well as production, composition and submission tips. Believe me, I've search all over the web, there is nothing this comprehensive anywhere else on this subject. In addition, if you have additional questions about the book or process or business, Richard actually responds right back to you in email. I highly recommend the book. It will save you time, get you focused and give you a real process for success."
Thank you Richard!

Ami Peres (Ashdod, Israel)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"My English is not very good so I'm sorry if i have some mistakes...
At first I was very skeptic about buying this book and investing the money in something that doesn't promise me anything... but you know what? It was worth the price. It gave me another option to think about in the music business. This book is giving you all the details and explanations you need to know about the production music business. It's written very clearly and simple to understand. In additional there is also a contact list of libraries that is a very big bonus.
After I've read this book I've decided that while I'm working on my own songs for one purpose I will write production music also. That's because I've realized that in the end, one of the main goal that every musician want to achieve, besides the glory and doing what he loves the most, is making a living out of it. And if i have the chance to do it in a different way, behind the stage and without all the recognition and the credits, I say why not? I want to wish good luck for every one that will decide, like me to try to build a new career in the production music business."

Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"
I really enjoyed reading Write, Record, and Sell Production Music written by Richard Pryde Hughes. I found that watching his accompaniment of tutorial videos was useful and informative. Richard has helped me get a clear understanding of how the music production business works. His experience with music and his knowledge of the business aspect inspires and motivates me to pursue my own my musical journey. I like the personal connection Richard made while corresponding with me. For example, he took time to genuinely make a professional review of a few of my songs and then gave me constructive and professional input. Although I have come across other people who seem to be "out for themselves" in the music industry, I see Richard as someone who genuinely cares about helping others get ahead in their own dreams, just as he has with his."
Thanks,
Joseph Velasquez |

I found Write, Record and Sell Production Music by Richard Pryde Hughes an invaluable investment. Based on his real life experiences, Richard will provide you with an insight into the realities of the Production Music business. Knowledge is power and after reading the book I now have the knowledge of what Production Music is and how it works, then after receiving a detailed, honest review of three of my tracks I now know what I need to work on to get my tracks up to scratch and hopefully succeed in this business. Thanks Richard for providing me with your insight and sparking my motivation."

Dave Lionelli (Alameda, CA)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"I am usually very wary of programs that have the "pay us and we'll give you the secret" attitude. I was very impressed by how honest and straight forward Rich's video was: I honestly felt like it was describing me the entire time. Selling my songs was something I had been interested in doing for a while with no idea where to begin, and $60 was no big deal. So I went for it, and in four months, I had a production library interested in licensing 10 of my tunes. This book is honest, and the info is solid. Hell, I'd have paid the money just for the contact list alone. This book won't do the work for you, but it will give you the tools to get the job done."

Jimmy Lockett (Las Vegas, NV)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"I am a professional composer/orchestrator/arranger and I want to let you know how much of a revelation your coursebook was on Production Music. I have always been interested in how the music you hear on TV, Radio, Film Trailers, Games, etc. was acquired. Most of my career has been spent with live stage music for the Musical Theatre, Stage Shows and some Classical/Symphonic work.
Your course explained, essentially, everything needed to get into the field. From the overview of Production Music itself, how libraries work and the various types, the kinds of deals available, the forms of payment and royalties, how to submit to libraries, and even the appropriate mentality or outlook, I feel the book is thorough and comprehensive. I particularly appreciated the segment explaining the parameters of how the music should be structured, what the libraries and music supervisors are looking for.
Of course, possibly the biggest value is the list of Production Music libraries. Honestly, this was what really convinced me to invest in the book. It would take a great deal of effort to compile this list without any real knowledge of the field. I actually visited every single site on the list (a few each night). I feel I came away from that experience with a very realistic sense of what the libraries carry and which ones might be right for me. In addition you have links to information about music supervisors and other industry resources.
I can honestly say that your coursebook is more than just a great introduction to Production Music. In fact, it is a step-by-step guide that shows you all you need to know to enter the field. I downloaded the book knowing virtually nothing and finished with a real sense of understanding what production music is and how to go about the attempt to enter the field. Well worth the investment."

Parry Shields (San Francisco, CA)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"Write, Record & Sell Production Music is your number one source for all the information that is needed to get you, the composer, started in a new musical endeavor called Production Music. As a musician and composer himself, Richard addresses the concern that many composers have when considering the selling of their own music. The book takes you thru the basic elements of the industry but always keeps you, the reader, in mind by explaining what you might come across and have to consider in each situation. Never forgetting the artists that we all are, the book also talks about the business side of production music and shows how you can make a living from writing, recording and selling your music. Have fun and good luck."

Nate Combs (Casselberry, FL)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"
The book is great, but the author is greater. I have been making production music and experimenting with intertwining genres since I was in high school. Over the years, it started out OK, progressed to good, etc. Now I have taken some of my greatest tracks and have begun to get rid of the "straight line" feel that they had, adding depth and quality so I can be right up there with the pros. I'm still fairly new to technical side of things, but I got my start here, where I learned that great music is more than just an awesome tune. Now my years of piled up tracks can begin to mean something as I return to perfect them.
Richard has taken the time to email me personally, listen to my music, and give me an honest review of what I've got and what I need to get. Who else can you say has done that? Seriously, he should consider starting a school one day. It seems like he is well on the way to being able to, and students would love his style."
Thanks again for everything Richard,

Alex Turbayne (Watford, Hertfordshire, UK)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"I did it! it took me long enough but finally decided to buy your e-book and let me say I am excited. I haven't been this excited about anything for a long time. I started reading it and didn't stop. I've read other music industry books and they are very in depth. I get bored as i don't really understand what I am looking for in them.
This is totally my bag. I mean everything I have been doing for the last 7-8 years in music is really geared towards production music and not performance or pop etc. I haven't made a penny but I'm thinking now is the time for change. Now is the time to say hello to the world here. I am taking my tunes and getting some hard cash, well unless no one likes them, but i haven't spent 8 years writing music that people aren't going to like. I hope not anyway."
Kind Regards,
Alex Turbayne

Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"Over the years I have been trying (without much success) to break into the music industry in a variety of ways. Then one day a friend of mine suggested I try music libraries. I found Richard's website and since then I've been amazed at the possibilities. After only two submissions, I received two offers!
Richard's list of music libraries is easily worth the price of his program. But along with the contacts list, his explanations of various publishing deals, etc. are extremely helpful. Richard also provided me with expert, personal advice with questions I have had. Not only is he a wealth of information, he is a really sincere and nice guy.
It is without reservation that I would HIGHLY recommend "Write, Record & Sell Production Music" by Richard Pryde Hughes III."

Ken Shepherd (Owensboro, KY)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"You only get one chance to make a strong first impression in life, and this is particularly true when it comes to music! Once it's out there, it's out there for ever, ready or not. You can't call back what you've put out there, and it lives on forever on that little plastic disc that you've put in somebody else's hand. That's what makes this book invaluable!
Imagine having a "connection" in the music business that will honestly tell you like it is. The "ins and outs" that can save you countless hours of time spent perfecting your craft, only to later find out that it's completely wrong for the situation you are attempting to place it in. That's what Richard Hughes brings to the equation.
The program does not require you to have a Master's Degree in Music Composition. I am self taught, and play by ear, but I am capable of creating music. The program does not require a multi-million dollar recording studio. I've pieced together a High Quality studio from used equipment purchased on line for a few hundred dollars. The program does not require ongoing investments (other than your own personal equipment upgrade preferences, and time doing what you love... creating music), on line classes, or hours upon hours of studying material that has little to no use in the real world. What this program does require is an ongoing drive to make money from the music you create. It's just that simple!
The information contained in this program will allow you to make a very professional first impression, as well as compose/record/edit music specifically for use in today's production environment. I recommend this program to anybody who is serious about their music, and want to make money from it without even leaving the comfort of your very own home studio."

Stefano Maranzana (Oro Valley, AZ)
Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"I recently bought "Write, Record & Sell Production Music" by Rich Hughes and I'm very happy I did. Rich explains in a very simple and to-the-point manner how production music works and how to seriously apply yourself to submitting and earning money with this type of genre. The book is not an easy way into the business of making music, but rather a manual on how to take your music out of the drawer and possibly earn money with it.
I am in the process of moving from Italy and the USA so I need some time before being able to follow Rich's suggestions. Yet, as soon as I am ready I will put into operation "Write, Record & Sell Production Music" and take my chances in a career that I was always looking for but didn't really know how to start.
Thank you Rich for sharing your knowledge. I recommend "Write, Record & Sell Production Music" to anybody who is interested in selling your music."

Product Review: Write, Record & Sell Production Music
"
The Book, Write, Record, and Sell Production Music written by Richard Pryde Hughes, is the most informative and excellent work on the how's, where's, and whys of the music world on selling your music.
On top of that, Richard will review 3 songs and check out sound and mix quality. In Richard’s video he goes on to say how he is really in interested in our success and the future of our love of music and writing music. He told me what I lacked in many areas of mixing, I really appreciated that . Richard really cares about our future, so much so, he told me what I need to do to enhance my music. These reviews are priceless, even if I have to pay for these reviews, it is worth it...
Richard is a straight shooter, I like that. He tells you like it is. That shows character and integrity. He really wants the best for our future, and I now have a game plan. From here, I can prepare and move forward. Thanks so much Richard you are the best my friend."

A good read and honest writing. If you want to be a composer, you have to work hard to achieve it, and that's what this book tells you. But also makes you realise the whole point of making music is to have fun. At the moment what's in the book- works. We'll see where I'm gonna end up..."
