The Music programs at Highlands offer a variety of options for students with interests in teaching and pre-professional careers in music. Students wishing to pursue in-depth studies in music may decide on the Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) Vocal Performance or Music Composition. The B.F.A. concentrations are appropriate for students seeking opportunities in graduate studies and professional music careers. Students interested in instrumental performance may also pursue the B.A. in Music, as it is the foundation of all Highlands music programs. In addition to the B.A., students may follow the Concentration in Music Education, which prepares graduates for licensure as K-12 music teachers in New Mexico and surrounding regions.
