The Mission of the Dixie State College Music Department is to prepare students for professional careers in music, to provide a high quality educational experience for all students, to serve as an educational and cultural resource for Dixie State College, the local community, and the region, and to develop character, dedication and excellence, and encourage lifelong learning. Welcome to the Horne School of Music at Snow College. We offer a comprehensive 2-year program of music study leading to either an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. Because of our small class sizes, world-class faculty and facilities and very strong administrative support, our students have unmatched opportunities for both classroom learning and practical application of skills through performance and touring. And through our unique partnership with the Juilliard School of New York City, students in the Horne School of Music are provided the opportunity to work with some of the world’s finest musicians in master classes and workshops.
The Department of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and offers SUU students a wide array of musical opportunities that can lead to a performance degree in music or a teaching degree in music. We also offer numerous performance electives for both music majors and non-majors, in such areas as Opera Theatre, Concert Choir, OPUS [Chamber Choir], Orchestra, Band, Jazz Band, and several small ensembles. Because the SUU music faculty has an exceptional combination of both teaching and performing expertise, our students have won state, regional, and national recognition for their efforts, both at SUU and after graduation and have gone on to teaching music and professional performance careers.
The University of Utah School of Music offers a comprehensive program of music study on both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has been an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1952.

The UVU Department of Music offers degrees in Liberal Arts, Performance, Music Education, Integrated Studies and a Minor in Music. It is classified as an All-Steinway School which is a distinction given only to schools that provide students with the finest instruments and facilities. This distinction also attracts Steinway artists, as well as students, to UVU for workshops and performances.
Our well-respected music program will nurture the artist in you and also allow you to focus your creativity. We offer a wide variety of performance opportunities, including national and international travel.
