The Music Department at Alverno College prepares students with the knowledge and performance skills necessary to enter a career with confidence and success. Baccalaureate programs include Music Therapy and the B.A. in Music with concentration in Arts Technology and Media Design. The Music curriculum features a diversity of relevant courses spanning historical timelines and musical styles, as well as clinical experiences that guide the student towards her career goals. Carroll University, Wisconsin's oldest college, has a long and celebrated musical history. Music has been part of its curriculum for more than 100 years, and its many diverse ensembles have been offering Carroll students opportunities for artistic expression and cultural enrichment since 1923. More than 200 music and non-music majors participate in Carroll's performing groups each year.
As one of the first small liberal arts colleges to offer a degree in music, Carthage provides a rich musical tradition that can be traced back over a century, including the formation of one of the first college bands in America shortly after the Civil War, and one of the oldest college touring choirs in the country.

Each semester the music faculty assesses student achievement using standard test formats, portfolio reviews, and juried performance reviews.

The music faculty offers all Lakeland students the opportunity to participate in the performing life of the campus community through vocal and instrumental ensembles.
